Meldefluss: The simple solution for the 2025 cash register reporting obligation
30. Mai 2025
Starting January 1, 2025, all businesses in Germany must register every cash register with the tax office. This includes providing full TSE details such as serial number, location, and activation date. You only have 30 days to report changes, otherwise you risk fines.
Meldefluss is our new app that takes care of this process for you. Fully digital, easy to use, and legally compliant.
What is Meldefluss?
Meldefluss is a new tool from OpenFiskal built for Shopify POS merchants in Germany. It helps you submit your cash register details on time without needing an ELSTER login or dealing with any paperwork.
💡 The app is currently under review by Shopify. You can already join the waitlist here:

What you can do with Meldefluss
In its first version, Meldefluss lets you generate a complete ELSTER upload for free:
Automatically detect all Shopify POS registers
Pre-fill TSE data from OpenFiskal
Easily add missing details like purchase date or register model
Export a fully ELSTER-compliant file for submission
This saves time, avoids errors, and works across multiple store locations.
What’s coming next
In June, a paid version of Meldefluss will also be available. It will let you:
Submit your registration directly to the tax office from the app
No ELSTER login or certificate file required
Receive automatic alerts when something changes that needs to be reported, such as a new location or updated TSE
This way, you’ll never miss a required update and stay compliant effortlessly.
Why we built Meldefluss
Merchants often asked us:
“What exactly do I need to report?”
“How do I deal with ELSTER?”
“What happens if I forget something?”
Although the legal rules are clear, the process is confusing in practice. That’s why we built Meldefluss. So you can focus on running your business, while we handle the reporting part for you.
